WONDERFUL WORLD ADVENTURES

Lourae has continued to travel since Randy passed away in July 2014. Check the 2015 World Cruise aboard the Silver Whisper. Then, here are some hints about finding our blogs. Our first trip was in 2011 aboard the Silver Spirit; check November 2011 archives. Our next trip was in 2012 aboard the Silver Explorer; check June 2012 archives. Our third trip was in 2013 aboard the Seabourn Sojourn; check July 2013 archives. Have fun!

2015 World Cruise - Intro

SILVERSEA  SILVER WHISPER
2015 WORLD CRUISE
January 5 to May 1, 2015

The Silversea World Cruise 2015 was an adventure that Randy and I had planned in mid 2013, along with Phil and Colleen Smoot (people we met on the 2011 World Cruise).  Sadly, Randy crossed the ocean to Heaven in July 2014.  Still, I continued with those plans, like he wanted me to do.  Randy is forever in my memories and always in my heart, so I shared my new adventures with him.  I missed seeing Randy's face, hearing his voice, and knowing he was always there close to me.  Now, I must wait before I see him again. Yet, when I cross an ocean, I think of Randy.

I did it!  Colleen and Phil are fun travel companions; I got reacquainted with other people from the 2011 World Cruise; and I met many new people.  There were 138 World Cruisers aboard with other guests cruising for shorter time periods of 7-52 days in various locations, for passenger totals of less than 280 passengers (with a crew population of 290).

The weather, overall, was fantastic.  It was 80° in Los Angeles, California when we departed January 5.  Cruising conditions were very comfortable for the entire trip except for the Tasman Sea near Sydney, Australia (a few days before arrival and one day after leaving) and one day while in the Madagascar Channel.  Lots of sunshine for, just about, the whole time; the Captain made every effort possible to avoid any rain squalls while at sea.  I don't recall any port visits where we encountered rain; a few places were hot and muggy but most were comfortable (for me, who is used to tropical weather).  And, it was 80° when we arrived in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida on May 1.

To get you started, while I continue to edit photos and videos to make movies, take a look at the DVD (just over 19 minutes) that Tracy Fleming, Ship Photographer, put together.  Very well done! Thank you, Tracy.
